The Power of Love

Today I feel compelled to write in light of recent events. Last night members of the public were targeted at a concert in Manchester- usually demographics are irrelevant, but in this case the majority were children and teenagers. And my heart aches. My heart aches because I have been on the other side of the wall, waiting for news on loved ones in an attack like this. My heart aches for the parents and families and my heart aches for the beautiful lives lost.

But, solidarity of love is the only answer.

Today, remove that veneer of pride or anything else that is stopping you from holding your loved ones close. Hold them close and tell them that you love them, you are grateful to have them in your lives. Living to an old age is a privilege not a guarantee, live each moment you have in love, peace and gratitude.

You may think your actions are not enough to change the world, but if love spreads more love then you can, you absolutely can.

My grateful thoughts today are that my loved ones are safe and well, and that I have this platform to share love and light across the globe.

  1. First off I would like to say great blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your head prior to writing. I have had trouble clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there. I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints? Appreciate it!

    1. Hey,
Thank you for the comment, I appreciate the compliment!
So I guess I don’t really centre myself because I simply write when an idea strikes.
I can never say ‘okay at 5pm I am going to write something’ because 5pm might come around and my creative juices could be severely stagnated! I guess my subconscious just doesn’t like the pressure.
But I do make an effort to mentally clear my head every day anyway, through yoga, or meditation, and I believe those moments of mental de-clutter ‘make room’ for more ideas.
So here’s what I suggest; accept mindfulness into your life as a habit. Do 10 minutes of yoga or breathing to just de-clutter your brain and get the energy moving around the body once a day. Soon enough, you’ll feel the ideas coming to you rather than you going to them.
Also, a really good book for inspiration is ‘Big Magic’ by Elizabeth Gilbert.

If this doesn’t work, I learnt a little trick in uni called ‘writing yourself in’. This is just a paragraph at the beginning of your piece explaining what the rest of your writing is going to be about (it can be the most boring and factual thing ever) however, once you have finished the entire piece you can just delete that first paragraph because it won’t be needed any longer.

Good luck! I’d love to read your writing in the future, keep in touch.
      Much love, E x

  2. I’m really inspired with your writing skills and also with the layout in your weblog. Is this a paid subject matter or did you customize it your self? Either way keep up the excellent quality writing, it’s rare to look a nice blog like this one today..

    1. Hi there,
Thanks so much for the compliment, I really appreciate it!
My blog is 100% from my own thoughts and experiences and I don’t get a penny for it!
I use wordpress as a free host- although I hope to progress my own blog design skills in the future to take full control of it.

I shall endeavour to keep an entertaining blog for your sake if nothing else.
Take care and keep in touch.
      Much love, E x
